Million Dollar Arm Turns the Red Carpet Green at its El Capitan Theatre Premiere #MillionDollarArmEvent

I am sure all my readers as well as everyone in social media (lol) are clearly aware that I just got back from Sunny LA attending the Million Dollar Arm Premiere at the El Capitan Theatre, which was held on May 6th.  Million Dollar Arm is an amazing & inspiring new Disney film that will be hitting theaters on May 16th, which is based on about the real life story of JB Berstein author of Million Dollar Arm.  In this story, Rinku Singh & Dinesh Patel, are athletes from India who are given a shot at trying out for a Major League Baseball team, thru a contest called Million Dollar Arm.  This story focuses not only on their journey, but how this journey changed the lives of everyone involved.  The story is really inspiring and the movie is a must see, so please be on the lookout this upcoming week for my full review on the movie – or if you have time this weekend head out to see Million Dollar Arm, as Disney is doing an advance showing in 500 theaters on Saturday (May 10th).  You can buy Advance Movie Tickets for Million Dollar Arm Online Now!

So I know you are saying to yourself “Choya, what happened on the Green Carpet?”  So let me get to all the juicy details.  Well it started with a ton of excitement centered around the Million Dollar Arm Pitching Contest.  Disney gave nine people the opportunity to win a $1 Million prize, all they had to do was showcase their Million Dollar Arm by making at least one 100 mph pitch.  Each contestant was flown to the World Premiere of Million Dollar Arm and given three chances to strike it rich.  Every contestant tired their hardest and did an amazing job, but Josh Dahl from Glendale, Arizona was the highlight of the event when he pitched the fastest ball at 94.9 MPH.  We were standing behind Josh’s family and it was amazing to see how supportive and proud they were of him.  In fact I joined in on #TeamJosh because their enthusiasm was just that contagious.  Check out the contestants and some of their speeds:

After the Million Dollar Arm Pitching Contest was over we headed onto the actual green carpet to see what other festivities were in store.  Now Disney is known for turning normal events into magical events and well this was no different.   What I love about Disney is that everything is themed and they leave no stone unturned.  It’s an event about baseball so of course that means you have to have the fan favorites.  Peanuts, hot dogs, your favorite soda, a pitching cage, and well a Disney event wouldn’t be a Disney event without the fun.  The atmosphere was really laid back and exciting at the same time.  The green carpet was filled with some of my favorite celebrities old and new.  Which meant it was time for what?  Yep that’s right photo opportunities (smile you know I love the camera).  Now there was no way I could attend this event without getting a picture of myself on the green carpet, so here I am having fun showcasing my Million Dollar Arm T-Shirt.

Further down the green carpet we ran into Rachel Allyn who plays Theresa, JB’s quirky and cute office assistant in Million Dollar Arm.  She was absolutely stunning and was eager to jump in a picture with us.

This green carpet was an experience of a lifetime as I got a chance to meet and take photos with some awesome people.  I met Eric Davis former Cincinnati Reds Shortstop and I also met Bradley Perry who plays Gabe on Disney’s Good Luck Charlie, which happens to be one of The Little Diva in Trainings favorite shows – needless to say I had to immediately print this picture out and frame it for her when I got home.

One of the highlights of the event was being able to meet Loretta Devine, who currently plays the voice of “Hallie” on Disney’s Doc McStuffins and then there was my experience with Deon Richmond, who you may know as BUD from The Cosby Show.  I won’t go into detail, but let’s just say that I am one red carpet attendee that Deon will never forget.  I put the hugest smile on both our faces with my silliness.  Then there were the photos that were captured of my wonderful #MillionDollarArmEvent blogging friends enjoying this experience.

friendsAs you can see I had an awesomely amazing good time.  The food was awesome, mingling with the attendees was amazing, sharing this experience with my fellow #MillionDollarEvent bloggers was priceless but by far the best part of my experience was seeing how I Do NOT possess a Million Dollar Arm.  Check out my poor, sad excuse of an attempt to pitch.  I am pretty sure Mr. JB sir won’t be scouting me out to do any pitching anytime soon and there is definitely NOT a Million Dollar signing bonus in my future.
